Tuesday Truth (on a Friday) Luke 12:6-7
Luke 12:6-7
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
Sometimes, when I am going through something difficult, it can be tough to remember just how valuable I am to the Father. I read these verses recently and, the truth of my importance to Him hit me hard.
If you ever find yourself asking, “do I matter to God?”, “is He even aware of what I’m dealing with right now?”, or “does He even care?”, then I would encourage you to read those verses above again (maybe again and again, until it really gets through).
Not even one sparrow is forgotten by God. NOT ONE! If he cares for even these birds, and if he numbers the hairs of my head, I can rest assured that I am also not forgotten.
Not only that:
He cares for me (1 Peter 5:7).
He is my protection (Psalms 57:1).
He offers to carry that heavy load that is weighing me down (Matthew 11:30).
He loves us as His children (Galatians 4:6).
The unimaginably hard times, the valleys, the lowest of lows in our lives often do not “make sense” to us. There may not be a direct “Oh, that’s why God allowed that!” realization for us on this side of eternity. However, when those times come, I would encourage you to rest in the knowledge that He is a good, good Father, and He cares for you. You are worth more than many sparrows!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for reminders in your word of your love and care, especially in times of heartache. Thank you that we know that the hard times will not last forever. Thank you for the hope of eternal life with You. It is all that we want.
We love you,
Amen
